About Therapy

“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.” – Joseph Campbell

First session jitters are to be expected…

You walk into my office, nervous about what exactly to expect. This session is long overdue.

Maybe you’re thinking to yourself…

She seemed nice enough on the phone, but will she really understand me?

I strive to put clients at ease.

Nothing you say will be judged or discouraged. This is your time to talk.

I listen intentionally.

I ask questions to better understand you.

We all create worlds that are meaningful to us.

We all have a story. Sometimes they are hard stories that still have a hold on us.

It’s when we deny our stories that we’re defined by them. It’s when we explore and understand them that we are free of them. We can let go and create a different story for ourselves.

It’s time to turn inward and look those stories in the eye—not only the stories that serve us, but also those that hinder us, keep us from our authentic selves.

I will help you turn inward…

I’ll help you walk through your personal journey and I will give witness to your courage.

You don’t need to carry the heavy emotions that are holding you down anymore – keeping you from experiencing a sense of happiness or a feeling of accomplishment. Depression, anxiety, feelings of worthlessness and guilt, grief and loss are common reasons to start therapy.

You don’t have to accept a life of struggles anymore.

If you are seeing me as a couple, I will hear both perspectives, talk about what is missing in your “coupledom,” and help you navigate your way to your desired outcome. We’ll work together to come up with an integrative solution for your relationship.

Are you ready to re-discover you?

The investment in yourself is true self-care.

About Me

I am honored to be your guide.

I, too, had some reservations when I started therapy in my mid-twenties.

But since then, therapy has been my own path for continual personal growth and development.

Now, I’m honored to be your guide towards increased self-compassion and self-acceptance.

Training, upbringing, and enjoying free time…

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I am a graduate of the University of Virginia (B.A. in French and Cultural Anthropology) and the California Institute of Integral Studies (M.A. in Integral Counseling Psychology).

I am product of a bi-cultural family, Uruguayan and Irish, and I speak Spanish. As someone who has lived on three continents and loves to travel, I delight in how cross-cultural exposure informs our understanding of ourselves and our world.

In my free time, you will find me reading, gardening, cooking family dinners, biking, and paddle boarding.
